Siri Karan Completed the Fasting

◆日本語の記事は、こちらからどうぞ◆

Some of you perhaps have already known from FB or my personal blog, but I completed the 7 day fasting.
Including all periods (preparing, recovery, shifting periods), it took 3 weeks. That means I spent almost all August, in 2015 for my fasting challenge.

From this fasting, I intended to remove anything unnecessary from me physically & mentally rather than to lose weight or reduce my size.

Because it had been about 1 year since I started teaching Kundalini Yoga here, in Fukuoka, I thought it was about time to reset and clear myself from a lot of stuff I got and accumulated unconsciously.
With perfect timing, a friend suggested fasting to me for change, so I made my mind.

Of course, after I started the fasting program, the long-term swelling of my legs were gone, and my entire body got slimmer and lighter. Besides, my ideas, thoughts, and perceptions toward eating, foods, or whatever I intake changed dramatically.

Those days without biting or chewing foods gave me the time to pay a close attention to what I really want to eat (or drink) and what my body really needs. Perceiving and understanding them by myself let me reconsider anything I did through my belief or preconception “I need this” or “I want this.”

I have gradually come to want to do anything according to my “I want to do it” or “I need to do it.” In other words, I now try to see and understand my true self naturally.

After I made my mind for my fasting (not started the program yet though), some opportunities as a Kundalini Yogini have come to me.
An offer to support a project, a big project to launch by myself (I will let you know about it when I can announce officially), new class offer in new area, the priceless feedback from my student (this was unexpected but rewarding enough to encourage me to conquer any hardship as a teacher from now on), and so on.

Then, a significant truth was revealed.
Since I decided to be a Kundalini Yoga teacher, I have tried to create the class as my primary Kundalini Yoga teacher did and to pass the greatness of Kundalini techniques & teachings to my students as she did to hers.
(I don’t mean to imitate or copy her ways at all.)

Although it has kept me being a Kundalini Yoga teacher, daily busyness sometimes made my motive or driving force dull or unclear. This fasting’s detoxification & purifying effect actually cleared the foggy components and reminded me of my true intention to keep teaching Kundalini Yoga.

She, my first yoga teacher, taught my first yoga Kundalini Yoga in my life and made me a Kundalini Yoga teacher under her training.
I learned what Kundalini Yoga is, how a Kundalini Yoga class is to be, and what a Kundalini Yoga teacher is to be like.
Now I remember how much I respect her way to teach students & create classes (I’ve been truly missing her class!!!).
AND now I will never forget what inspired me to be a Kundalini Yoga teacher and to keep teaching the sacred teachings.

I just had 7 days without chewing and biting foods.
However, the entire 3 weeks of this program have given me so many gifts of (re)discoveries, and physical lightness as well.

I personally recommend everyone to do fasting at least 7 days.
Your actual challenge can tell you why I recommended and how it will work to you by experience. (It is like the concept of Kundalini Yoga, so called the yoga of awareness. Your actual experience with it tells you about it more than just hearing about it.)

Anyway, I has got ready to restart as a Kundalini Yoga teacher with new refreshed simplified Siri Karan Kaur.
